2021 Mercedes GLE or 2021 BMW x5?

Hi all,

New to this forum and was wondering what some car buffs think of these two models- either a Mercedes GLE or a BMW x5.

I looked at the Audi Q5 and had my paperwork done and was about to drive off the lot and there was a 15 inch scratch alongside the drivers door that was not there before we went inside to complete the paperwork.. long story short they 192.168.0.1 routerlogin 192.168.l.l
wouldn't compensate me for the 10+ hours I spent in the dealership so now out of principle I will not be purchasing an Audi.

I currently drive a pre-owned 2011 BMW x3 that I bought as my first car 2 years ago when I got my license. Now I want a brand new car with as many bells and whistles as I can get.

My partner is firmly against Mercedes (he says it's a guinea car.. but honestly there is not other reason he doesn't like them) and is pushing for BMW since they are his favorite.. keep in mind he does not drive and I drive us everywhere.

The important things for me are:

-Smooth ride, acceleration, and braking

-Handles turns smoothly

-Has a lux interior

-Has ample leg and head room - I am 6'4

-Is around 50k

Well... 2021 X5 and GLE are both 100k+ cars

So there goes your 50k budget.

Edit: well the fact that you live in U.S changes things cause I have zero knowledge about car prices there.
