I have been to Lappeenranta recently. It was my first visit. Good place, especially near the bay. I like that you don't strew salt over the roads. Because of this you keep your cars clean. I had my car clean in Finland also and it became dirty immediatelly when I came to S-Petersburg

You don´t believe how much salt they strew over the roads here...at least in southern Finland. When its warmer than about -7 so all roads are salted and when you wash your car you can´t drive at all without it beeing dirty again.

In Lappeenranta they don't salt anything exept highway 6 I think :think Did you drive by the bay and the harbor at night, magnificent landscape with all the lights, I always enjoy that Glad you had a good visit!

Yup, it ain´t nice. Just because some people find driving a bit insecure when it´s slippery. I think that it makes driving more difficult for these "unsecure" drivers when some places have been salted and some haven´t. They should try driving at closed areas or something, or then take the bus. We have good public transportation here.

When I look at my car now, when it haven´t been washed, I can see these white lines all over the paint. It is salt stains....no wonder why the cars rust away so fast. It´s an environmental hazard too.

They should forbid spreading salt by a law.

Here (China) roads are little better than Russia, but still not as good as Lahti-Helsinki motorway. But best thing here is that here are no snow! I hate that white shit.

Unfortunately I didn't. I was in the afternoon. But it was not my last visit I think
Also I liked the new houses nearest the bay (having constructed by YIT as I recollect right) where you have beautiful views and can feel the scent of the fresh water from the balconies. Good place for living
