Options: - Upgrade TIMKEN rollerbearings - 120€. - 40%/25% locking - 8 friction shims and special assimetrical 55º Accel/65º Decel ramps costs 280€. Total - 1120 + 38 + 120 + 280 = 1558€
With the correct oil (Castrol Syntrax LS 75W140) there will be no noise, parking or rolling. Noise when parking only happens if too much pre-load is used. I always put low pre-load to ensure longevity of shims and safer wet driving. Too much pre-load is an incorrect and cheap way to "upgrade" a clutch lsd. Modified ramps angle and number of shims is the proper way to improve it. If you do the proper studing about lsd´s and you will find that a well setup clutch-type lsd is the way to go. If road driven the LSD will last for about 250000km without changing shims and doing regular oil changes. This is basically a M3 E36 ZF LSD adapted to a E90 diff. It´s pretty reliable.
