...what? Ok, you've added the M-tech kit and leather interior, but even so it looks like a bargain! In Finland you may be lucky enough to get a rusty one without engine for that money Keep it in good shape, and yes, get some power under the hood.

If you are familiar with welding, you should consider making the manifold yourself. If not, get a friend who is

edit: 185cc injectors are good for boost levels up to 0.5bar in your engine, I wouldn't go furher. Compression ratio is about 9:1 (correct me if I'm wrong), which is quite nice if you aren't planning to run over 1bar of boost.

Hi dude. First of all nice looking car you got there Second: where in belgium do you live? I'm a finn living in NL right now but my moms lives in Brussels so I visit there time to time. It would be nice to check out the cars sometime if you live close to Brussels. Good luck to your project anyways

          Hi ,
Thanks for the nice comments .
Here is a little update so far.
I am currently running the 1,8i engine with 345cc injectors, M30 throttlebody and VEMS controlled (spark and fuel). But no turbo yet
BUT it is very close to be finished.
I have all the parts now and am ready to build the turbo on.
Here is a pic of the exhaustmanifold we made with a friend of mine.
The car has now around 125pk only by smooth tuning and better breathing with the bigger throttlebody. So this will be a good base for the turbo.
          updates will follow

            Hi,
you are a great enthusiast Your car looks new and it is incredible for me how were you able to buy it for just 250Euro? In Russia you could buy an old rusty russian car (I think you know what is it "russian cars" ) which could start once or twice on that money
And why do the most people consider that everything in Belgium is expensive?
            good luck in your experiments!

              Thanks,
I have to say that I was lucky to find this car in this shape for this price. Alot of people think an old car is crap and they think it is at its end and don't want to spend time in it to sell it.

              UPDATE:
TURBO IS ON !!!!!!! and it works fine.
The difference is fantastic, I run 0,6bar on the stock engine(internals) and I hope it will hold it.

You and a lot of people are absolutely right in it. And it needs to be really lucky to buy such a car for such money!
For example, in Russia it is almost impossible to do the same because bad roads kill gears and the salty mix on roads in winter period makes aluminium details and bodies go bad much more quickly

                Congratulations!
Please, explain the difference. How many seconds need(ed) to get 100 now/before?

sounds nice! the machine is very durable (cylinder block usually biggest problem 1,8 1980s) depending on how much small thingies you changed in the machine, compression ratio, good adjustments concerning fuel, spark, air intake etc.

Get some gauges in the cabin and you are fine for a long time

For later, buy a 4cyl.block =2.0L from the seventies - very good for turbo use. handles high bars. your car looks so nice that she deserves it!

Wheel horsepower results would also be nice.

Hi peeämwee, I have full standalone vems system with a nice lcd screen with visibility of all necessary variables in the dashboard mounted.
The engine is entirely stock inside.

I will post some exacter results after a cleaner tuning such as 0-100km/h and 80-120km/h changes.

I have a small intake airleak somewhere because boost drops off quickly in higher rpm. I have to improve the intake tubings to the throttlebody.

                    bye

                          Little update:
So far I was running 0,85bar on the stock engine and it feels nice.
From the datalogs I could compare the difference from NA and turbo.
                          In 3th gear I ran from 2500rpm(60km/h) till 4500rpm(110km/h) in 6,25s instead of 10,6s.
                          Headgasket is still holding it!
After a few weeks running 0,85bar the turbo started to smoke and suddenly the oilseals of the turbo broke .
I knew this turbo was old but ran pretty well for around 6months.
I ordered a much bigger turbo Holset HY35.

                              I hve also had 518 i

Unfortunately neither I can say anything about your technical question. I have also had 518 i but it has no turbo. It is true that its engine is rather small and it has no power, but anyway I liked the car a lot. It would be nice to see pictures of your daily driver.
