    BMW 518i turbo

    Hi all ,
    For what i've been reading here it is a fantastic site with much information!
    I have a E28 518i which I will turbo in the near future.
    I have collected allready: Garrett airesearch T03; 185cc injectors; E46intercooler. In the first stage I want to run low boost (0,6bar max.) because this is my daily driver. Do I have to lower the standard compression? What setups do you guys use on your M10's?
    For the second stage I have 345cc injectors and perhaps MegaSquirt or VEMS with bigger turbo.

    No comments about technical questions youp asked but I just wondered where are you from?

    And why are you boosting such a small engine?

        Could you please post some pictures of Your e28?

        How is the chassey holding up? How is the rust situation? ...rust seems to be eating away all these great cars...

          Hi guys,
          I'm from belgium by the way. The reason why I will boost a small engine is I have a 628csi in my garage with the M106 engine from the 745i for the fun . My daily driver is a 518i but TURBO is like more fun. Taxes and insurance are expensive for big engines here in belgium.
          I will post some pictures in the near future. Chassis is OK and very small rust on the sideskirt. With such a small engine the E28 is a terrific car wich handles very good for his age. The E28 with the big 6cyl is much heavier on the front which gives him problems of understeer. My brother is driving an E28 with M106 engine on track.
          I tried to read some posts about the M10 turbo but can't read it. Finnish is too difficult for me
          How do you guys make an adaptor for the exhaust manifold?Pics? Or where do you buy them? I informed at Proturbo but they didn't reply my mail?

            Dont you have any companys which make turbo exhausts for M10 there in belgium?

              are there more in finland besides proturbo?

                We have guys reading this forum who can make it themself. You need to ask them in OSTETAAN forum. It will be cheaper that buying from proturbo.

                  Yep, i bought my turbomanifold for M10 from here too. It cost me 110-120euros, so it was pretty cheap. I dont know how much sending that kind of particle to there would cost?

                    OK but in which forum of "ostetaan"? because I don't understand this word should it(manifold making) be asked in ostetaan autot or "osat ja tarvikkeet"?

                      yep, you should post in "ostetaan: osat ja tarvikkeet". That is the right place for you. Maybe someone will sell you that kind of manifold and send it there. One possibility is to use the orginal manifold. Turning manifold(s) upside down and making "adapter" for turbo. It should be suffient for 200hp?

                        do you think i should lower the compression to achieve 200hp without any issues or is this a bad idea? What do you guys do to lower compression? Have you heard of people using M102 pistons(from early 745i) with the same bore 89mm in an m10?

                          The guys on the ostetaan forum could'nt fabricate or sell me an exhaust manifold and sent me to a swedish O2forum but I didn't find it there either
                          what do you guys think of my 518i?

                              Only 518i with that optic? My gosh. Very nice, so clean and everything. I would trade my M535 for that anytime.
